Yuqin synthesizes novel materials, studies their properties, and optimizes surface chemistries to enhance the assay performance of the Kompass platform. Before joining Kompass, Yuqin developed advanced methods to characterize and analyze material performance at Momentive Performance Materials. At University of Chicago, she synthesized molecular probes for PFAS - a class of environmental pollutant known as the forever chemical widespread in water - tailoring their surface chemistries and studying the interactions at the molecular level to build the state-of-the-art PFAS water sensor. She holds a BS in BS in Polymer Materials and Engineering from Zhejiang University and PhD in Molecular Engineering from University of Chicago.
